School Statement | |||
| As a Benedictine school rooted in a tradition
of community and academic excellence, St. Scholastica Academy educates
young women by attending
to the development of the whole person through emphasis on critical thinking, moral responsibility, and lifelong learning. We are an International Baccalaureate school with a college preparatory program. We identify Benedictine education as containing the following: a love of learning, a sense of balance, respect for the individual, the stewardship of gifts and the importance of community. We have existed in Chicago since 1865, and our 12,000 alumnae are a testament to what we have accomplished. | |||
Exchange Note | |||
| The school has in the past participated in overseas exchanges (with Germany) during the regular academic, but not in the past 15 years. As an International Baccalaureate school, we would not be adverse to pursuing an overseas programme. | |||
