School Statement

Benedictine nuns from Freiburg (Benedictine Sisters of St. Lioba) founded the school after World War II in 1946 in a former Cistercian Abbey, a building dating from the 13th Century, with a baroque church and gothic cloisters. It is a school for girls only, secondary boarding and day school. Professional apprenticeships in dressmaking, furniture making, pottery and wood sculpture offered to students, in parallel with academic studies and with the possibility of professional exams after A-level (Abitur). Parallel instruction lasts for 5 years. About 50-60 in Abitur each year, 32-35 in craftsmanship exam.

Exchange Note

The school has up to 15 girls from France, Ireland, Mexico, Spain and Italy. Some of the female students spend a year in the UK or USA to improve their English. There is no regualr exchange programme.
